be an Effective Marketing Tool
E-mail continues to be an extremely effective tool for
promoting your website and maintaining contact with customers and
prospects.
Americans still receive lots of spam, but they are now
better protected by spam filters and aren’t complaining as much. The rejection of permission-based e-mail is
not increasing despite the burden of spam.
E-mails entered on your website should be automatically
loaded into your e-mail database either by your E-mail
Service Provider or by in-house e-mail management software.
Provide an auto-responder e-mail. Surveys have found that almost three-quarters
of the general population will open and read a confirmation e-mail within one
hour of receipt. Your auto-responder
should include a carefully crafted marketing message.
Distribute a monthly e-mail newsletter or e-zine. While this requires time and effort, it
produces substantial marketing benefits.
Spam legislation, e-mail filters and inbox clutter create
challenges for e-mail marketers. There
